WHAT IS ALPHA KAPPA DELTA PHI?
aKDPhi is an international Asian-interest sorority with 48 chapters located at numerous universities across the United States and in Canada. We are the biggest, first, and only international Asian-American interest sorority!
As a nation, we are part of the National APIA Panhellenic Association (NAPA), which we helped charter in 2006. Our national philanthropy is breast cancer awareness, officially partnering with Avon Breast Cancer Crusaders. On campus, we participate in the Friends of the Greek Council and the Multicultural Greek Council, as well as multiple cultural RSOs, such as the Chinese Undergraduate Students Association and Korean Student Organization. We also greatly value our location in Hyde Park and work with several organizations to help alleviate poverty and domestic violence in the South Side of Chicago.
The mission of alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority is to provide a sisterhood among women while promoting leadership, scholarship and Asian awareness, particularly in the South Side of Chicago.
WHAT IS RUSH?
Rush is a time for the rushees to get a better understanding of the sorority and the sisters. Since becoming a new member in a sorority is a very important decision for the interested participant as well as for the sisters, we feel that getting to know our rushees should be the main goal of our rush process. In addition, interested individuals can meet and talk with the current sisters and become better acquainted with us and the purposes of our sorority. Even if you're not sure if aKDPhi is right for you, don't hesitate to come out and meet some new people!
HOW DO I JOIN?
Rushees are required to attend at least one information session and one other rush event to qualify for an interview. More information regarding the Rush Week schedule will be provided closer to the date.
DO I HAVE TO BE ASIAN TO JOIN?
No! We welcome all female undergraduate students of any ethnicity.
HOW MUCH WILL RUSH COST ME?
Rush events are completely free for all rushees. All expenses, including food and transportation, are all covered.
